The Team

The faces behind Aussie Snufflers is a fantastic mother daughter duo, and of course the reason behind the entire company is our gorgeous golden retriever Theodore (Also affectionately known as ‘Boof’).

The Brand

​

During the first two months of having Theodore in our lives, we lived with my parents where he had a vast backyard and swimming pool to play and explore to his heart's content. We then transitioned into our own apartment in the city. Although I take Theodore out multiple times each day for different adventures, I was worried that living in an apartment was limiting his mental stimulation and that he was getting bored during the day while I worked.

Constantly browsing the internet for different kinds of enrichment toys to fill his time I realised that I had a vision of something more complex than what was on the market. Taking the idea to my mum who is incredibly creative I pitched my idea and asked whether we would be able to make it ourselves. Through months of trial and error with different shapes, sizes and formats we came to the final design of our Classic Collection.

Why Snuffle Mats?

When our friends and family who have dogs themselves saw what we had designed, they immediately asked if we could make one for their pets as well. With this massive interest from people within our lives we realised that so many other dogs could also benefit from our snuffle mats. 

​

After talking extensively with the people who have tried and used our snuffle mats on their own dogs, it has shown us that not only is our snuffle mat great for combating boredom but also hyperactivity, destructive behaviours and anxiety.

The Quality

​

A variety of fabrics were sampled for durability, longevity and practicality. The base of each snuffle mat is made from recycled rubber whilst the mat itself has been designed using Australian made felt sourced from Melbourne. 

​

A double lined fabric has been used on the burrowing toys to ensure they are robust and durable.  

​

All aspects of the snuffle mats are machine washable but do not tumble dry. Air dry only.
